Kevlar |
 |
 |
Kevlar is an incredibly strong, tough, light, heat, flame and cut resistant fiber. No other fiber has its unique combination of properties, and while it is known first and foremost for cut protection, Kevlar also protects against thermal burn. In fact, it will not melt or drip around open flame, making it one of the top choices for welding, glass plants, refineries, and so on. Kevlar thread has become the industry standard for dramatically improving seam strength and flame resistance in cut-and-sewn gloves, particularly ones designed for high-heat applications involving the threat of open flame. When it comes to preventing injury, Kevlar is certainly an excellent choice, while still being cost effective. |
